Tying the Glimmer Minnow

The Glimmer Minnow is a streamer that I came up with that provides a small profile to match the fry and other minnows that make up a large portion of a smallmouth's diet. The smaller profile has helped in low, clear water where smallmouth might be spooked by large, heavy flies that slap the water. This is a very easy pattern if you're a beginner tyer or looking to tie a bunch of flies quickly!

Recipe:

Tail: Craft fur for the base with Glimmer Flash over the top

Body: Dubbing (I use American Tied Flies dubbing, but you could also use Laser Dub)

Head: More dubbing!

Stick some eyes on and you're set.
